Natural Wood Veneer in Dubai The Soul of the Forest

Nature does not repeat itself. From our Ajman warehouse, we curate the world's most extraordinary wood grains โ€” sliced to architectural precision for the discerning interior specialist across the UAE.

More Than Material โ€” A Living History

At Mercavio, we believe that wood is more than a material โ€” it is a living history. Natural wood veneer represents the ultimate expression of this philosophy. Unlike engineered or synthetic surfaces, natural veneer is a genuine slice of timber โ€” capturing the unique fingerprints of the tree from which it was harvested.

From the intricate cathedrals of crown cut oak to the disciplined linearity of quarter cut walnut, every leaf in our collection tells a story of soil, climate, and time. Our natural veneer sheets are stocked across 90+ species. If you're new to the material, our guide on what wood veneer is explains the fundamentals.

Our sourcing team travels globally to identify "flitches" โ€” individual logs that possess extraordinary character. These are meticulously sliced to a thickness of approximately 0.5mm to 0.6mm, allowing designers to cover vast surface areas with a single, consistent grain pattern while maximizing the yield of rare timber species. For large-scale projects, we also offer large sheet pressing and bespoke pressed veneer panels.

Four flitches that define luxury

01

American Walnut

The definitive choice for luxury joinery. Known for its deep, chocolatey hues and occasional creamy sapwood, American Walnut offers a sophisticated, low-luster elegance that defines modern corporate and residential interiors across the Middle East.

02

European Oak

A versatile masterpiece. Whether utilized in its raw, pale-blonde state or finished with custom oils, European Oak is celebrated for its prominent medullary rays and robust grain structure โ€” perfect for Scandinavian and minimalist aesthetics. Explore our full range of premium veneer species.

03

Burma Teak

The gold standard of the nautical and hospitality world. Burma Teak is prized not only for its rich golden-brown color but for its natural oils, which provide exceptional durability against the humidity levels of the Gulf region.

04

African Mahogany

Epitomizing classical luxury, Sapele and Kaya Mahogany flitches are selected for their shimmering ribbon figure. These species provide a deep, reddish-brown warmth that adds historical weight to contemporary door designs and wall features. Explore our dyed veneer options for custom tones.

Grain geometry & architectural execution

Understanding the anatomy of the slice is essential for flawless architectural execution.

01 / Cut

Crown vs. Quarter Cut

The aesthetic of a veneer sheet is determined by the angle at which the log is sliced. Crown Cut produces the iconic cathedral pattern โ€” ideal for high-impact furniture faces. Quarter Cut slices the log at 90 degrees to the growth rings, resulting in straight, parallel lines. For a direct comparison, see our article on veneer vs solid wood.

02 / Matching

The Science of Matching

Because natural veneers are sliced in sequence, we offer Book-Matching โ€” where every other leaf is turned over like the pages of a book to create a perfectly symmetrical image. For a more rhythmic look, we provide Slip-Matching. Both techniques pair beautifully with our wood marquetry and wood inlay services.

03 / Storage

Ajman Warehouse Integrity

Wood is hygroscopic โ€” it breathes with the environment. In our Ajman warehouse facility, we maintain a strictly controlled humidity and temperature profile. This prevents flitches from becoming brittle or warping. Finishing services include edge cutting, wood sanding, and laser cutting.
