Our sourcing team travels globally to identify "flitches"—individual logs—that possess extraordinary character. These flitches are then meticulously sliced to a thickness of approximately 0.5mm to 0.6mm, allowing designers to cover vast surface areas with a single, consistent grain pattern while maximizing the yield of rare timber species.

Grain Cuts: Crown vs. Quarter
The aesthetic of a veneer sheet is determined by the angle at which the log is sliced. Crown Cut (Plain Sliced) produces the iconic "cathedral" or "crown" pattern, ideal for high-impact furniture faces. Quarter Cut involves slicing the log at a 90-degree angle to the growth rings, resulting in a series of straight, parallel lines. This cut is favored for tall wall paneling where a seamless, uninterrupted vertical flow is required.
The Science of Matching
Because natural veneers are sliced in sequence, we can offer Book-Matching, where every other leaf is turned over like the pages of a book to create a perfectly symmetrical image. For a more repetitive, rhythmic look, we provide Slip-Matching, ensuring that the grain is consistent across an entire hotel lobby or ballroom feature wall.
